I would predict that what we are hearing is some mix (like on a mixing board) of the high, mid and low frequencies, which is why we refer to the sound as "more woody," or more "tinny. Unless of course its some cutie in a bar. (I was the only girl in the band with a real guitar) a 1957 Fender precision. gold scratch plate, stripe up the back of the neck. I didnt know it was the most difficult bass to play due to the size of the wide neck.

If a study were made then it would be a less subjective topic. Tobias 4 String Bass 1985 - Serial 311 Pre-Gibson / Custom Made. Then there is the type and gauge of string, type of pick, attack angle of the pick etc. For instance where between the bridge and the fingerboard was the string plucked and how? As we know, the closer to the bridge a string is played the fewer lows sound and more highs. It would be a difficult experiment to control since there are so many variables. As far as I can tell there is no literature on the subject for acoustic guitars. I ask this because it would be an interesting experiment to process different acoustic instruments through an oscilloscope to actually scientifically measure tone and the overtones produced. That said, if anyone out there can somehow help me locate these items - especially the Red Mike Lull 5-string and the Fender P-Bass - I would be very very thankful.Would like to inquire since you are a mastering engineer if you are also an acoustical engineer or know one. So I get that these are just things, and no one got hurt, and life goes on. My first was in 1994, when someone stole my 1986 pre-Gibson Tobias out of my North Hollywood apartment. This is my second time around this particular rodeo. I will also gladly accept anonymous tips if that feels appropriate. If you could be so kind as to share this post with anyone you think could help locate one of these instruments (even if you don't live in the United States it's possible that these are already headed overseas), I would be most grateful. The power of social media far exceeds anything I could do on my own. Obviously some of these instruments are very recognizable, but I'm just one person. I have done a quick search on eBay, Craig's List, and, but I don't see anything. They were stolen sometime between November 9 and December 27. (It's a long and winding story as to why there were there, involving international shipping snafus and forest fires and crazy touring schedules.) I don't have any pics of me playing that black 4-string Mike Lull jazz bass, but everything else has been around. I am including some pictures of me playing the instruments above. The fingerboard is pau ferro on a flamed maple and purpleheart neck. Roscoe Classic JJ 5 2017 Tobacco sunburst. Beautiful goncalo alves top on a walnut body. I also am missing an SWR Mo' Bass head, s/n ending in 0002 (the second ever made), and a couple of other items Tobias 5 five string bass electric guitar made in the USA Amber.

* Taylor AB-4 acoustic/electric bass, sunburst, s/n 20010214201 they're fairly recent, early to mid 2000's (i think i bought mine in 2003), made in korea to the gibson/tobias design, sold through a company called musicyo for a few years then they disapeared i've owned a couple, still own one that i really like.
